Dr. Michal Schwartz was awarded the Blumberg Outstanding Medical Research Scientist Prize on November 3, 2015 for her groundbreaking research in the connection between the brain and the immune system.
“There was a scientific dogma that there is no relationship between the brain and the immune system,” said Schwartz. “We proved that this was not the case, and we hope that as a result, we will be able to open the gateway to the brain for fighting aging and Alzheimer’s disease. I want to thank Alice Blumberg for her generosity and vision in supporting research for the benefit of all humanity.”
